The City of Federal Way was originally an unincorporated town created in 1929 in response to the burgeoning logging industry in the area. As a suburb of both Seattle and Tacoma, this small town grew as the flood of new employees of Boeing Aircraft Company move to the area in the 1960’s.

Today, Federal Way is an incorporated city with a population of over 100,000 and is the 10th largest city in Washington State.
